It’s the end of the year, and Duquesne students will soon have to suffer an entire summer without The Duke telling them what to watch. Luckily, we have prepared this handy list of films to look out for in the coming months, in order of release date.

“Captain America: Civil War”

The next entry in the much beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Civil War” pits Captain America and Iron Man against each other, with the remaining super heroes forced to pick sides.

Based on the comic book event of the same name, the film features a cast of heroes even bigger than “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” including Spider-Man, Black Panther and Ant-Man.

Furthermore, the movie will be directed by the Russo brothers, who directed “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” one of the best-reviewed entries in the MCU.

“Captain America: Civil War” hits the silver screen on May 6.

“Warcraft”

Based on the popular video game franchise, “Warcraft” promises to be a computer generated fantasy epic, with some of the most realistic-looking animation ever made.

While video game movies do not have the best track record, “Warcraft” is looking to be a possible exception with the backing of Legendary Pictures, who co-developed such films as “The Dark Knight” and “Pacific Rim.”

“Warcraft” begins the battle of Orcs and Humans on June 10.

“Finding Dory”

The sequel to the popular film “Finding Nemo,” “Finding Dory” follows the titular amnesiac fish as she attempts to find her family.

Ellen DeGeneres returns to her role as Dory, with Albert Brooks also returning as Nemo’s father, Marlin. A whole host of new characters will also be introduced, including a whale shark named Destiny and voiced by Kaitlin Olson of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

“Finding Dory” splashes down on June 17.

“Godzilla Resurgence”

After the success of the “Godzilla” remake by Legendary Pictures in 2014, Toho said that it would launch its own series of films to go alongside the American counterpart.

“Godzilla Resurgence” is the final product of that promise, featuring the tallest iteration of the nuclear dinosaur yet, standing at an astonishing 108 meters. Unlike the last entry in the 30 film series, Godzilla will be portrayed by actors in a suit enhanced with digital effects, rather than being entirely made of CGI.

“Godzilla Resurgence” releases in Japan on July 29. No western release has been confirmed yet.

“Suicide Squad”

Getting tired of all these goody two-shoes superhero movies yet? Or maybe you enjoyed the darker parts of “Deadpool,” but thought it could have gone farther? Well then, why not try a super villain movie instead?

“Suicide Squad” follows a group of super-powered criminals who are forced to perform dangerous jobs for the government, in exchange for shorter prison sentences. These include such characters as Harley Quinn, Killer Croc and the Joker.

While previous entries in the DC Expanded Universe have been met with mixed-to-negative reception, such as “Batman v. Superman,” “Suicide Squad” promises to have more jokes and to be a lighter affair than the rest.

“Suicide Squad” begins their mission on August 5.
