Duquesne graduate student Cheyenne Warner, 22, from Slippery Rock, passed away over the weekend, confirmed Vice President of Student Life Douglas Frizzell in a campus-wide email. The cause of death is not yet known.

According to the email, Warner was a graduate student in the school of education. Senior physics major Ben Torisky, who knew Warner since his freshman year, said she wanted to be a high school physics teacher.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced Warner dead in her apartment on the 19th floor of Brottier Hall at 5:26 p.m., the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed. Her autopsy will be complete by Monday evening.

“Please join me in keeping her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” Frizzell concluded in his email.
