UPDATED: Pitt student reports sexual assault in Duquesne dorm

UPDATE: Sept. 2 2:30 PM – Bridget Fare, chief marketing and communications officer at Duquesne said in a statement to The Duke, “The City of Pittsburgh is handling the investigation. As always, the University will fully cooperate with the investigation.”

In the early morning hours of Saturday September 2, a female University of Pittsburgh student reported to Duquesne Police that she had been sexually assaulted on Duquesne’s campus.

The alleged assault occurred in an unnamed Duquesne residence hall at 1:52 AM. The alleged perpetrator was a male Duquesne student that the victim had recently met, according to a Duquesne crime alert email blast.

The email said that the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Sex Assault Unit will be handling the case.
