It snowed on campus this week. Snow. In early November. That’s almost as unfathomable as a week with only three crimes on the Bluff. Are students just feeling so lethargic that they don’t want to get into trouble?

On Thursday, a witness from UPMC Mercy reported a white male entering St. Ann’s through a window on Stevenson Street.
Late Friday night, five students in St. Ann’s were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for marijuana.
Another student was found with marijuana on Monday night in St. Ann’s.

Pair of faculty members given Fellows grant
Director of the Center for the Catholic Intellectual Tradition Darlene Weaver and chair and associate professor of theology Maureen O’Brien were given a Lilly Fellows Program grant.
The $3,000 grant will assist the two in gathering a group of six faculty members next year to engage in interdisciplinary conversation about Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability: Explorations at a Spiritan Catholic University.
Local chapter honored by national organization
The Duquesne chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was recognized nationally as one of only 50 Chapters of Merit worldwide.
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, recognized the chapter because of its engagement in service to others.

Three Brashear students shot outside school
Three Brashear High School students were shot after school let out Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting was not on school property.
A search for the gunman resulted in six persons of interest being taken into custody.
Police arrested 16-year-old Anjohnito Willet Jr. on Wednesday night. He faces several charges, including four counts of attempted homicide, according to police.
