Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting of a Wilkinsburg man nearby Duquesne’s campus.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Stevenson Street around 4:00 a.m. The 18-year-old victim was shot in the head by an unidentified shooter and taken to UPMC Mercy hospital in “stable” condition, according to Pittsburgh Police spokesperson Sonya Toler.

Neither the victim nor the shooter are affiliated with Duquesne, according to Duquesne Public Safety Director Thomas Hart.

A black and silver Chevrolet Tracker occupied by three black males, who are considered suspects in the shooting, fled up Stevenson Street after the shooting, Hart wrote in an email to the Duquesne community.

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call the Pittsburgh Police Zone 2 station at 412.255.2827.
