The Duquesne women’s basketball team will not be the sole Atlantic 10 champion this season, as a loss at St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon resulted in a three-team tie for first place in the conference.

The 60-48 loss brought the Dukes to the same 13-3 A-10 record as George Washington and Saint Louis, and the three teams will now share the regular season title. The Dukes will be the third seed in the A-10 Tournament, set to begin on March 2 in Richmond, Va.

Senior point guard April Robinson led the Red & Blue with 17 points, being the only Duke to score in double-digits.

Duquesne, who only made 17 of its 57 shots from the field, trailed St. Bonaventure the entire game. The Bonnies would jump on a 12-4 start in the first quarter, finding its largest lead in the third quarter, by an advantage of 21 points. Duquesne brought the game within five points in the fourth quarter, but a 7-0 run by the Bonnies would secure its victory over the Dukes.

George Washington is the top seed in the tournament, with wins over both Duquesne and Saint Louis. The Billikens earned the second seed from a victory over Duquesne on February 18.

With a bye to the quarterfinals, Duquesne will compete in its first match-up of the tournament this Friday at 7 p.m. The Dukes will face Fordham, or the winner of the first round game between UMass and La Salle.
