Pittsburgh police officers are currently searching Oakland for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place at around 1 p.m. on Forbes Avenue, a block away from the A.J. Palumbo Center, according to Duquesne police.

The victim told police he was on the sidewalk when a man approached him with a gun. After a brief encounter, the suspect ran down Forbes toward Oakland, and the victim went to Mercy Hospital and called the police. A Duquesne police representative said she does not know if the suspect stole anything from the victim.

The victim described the suspect as a black male with dreadlocks that had colored tips, wearing a white t-shirt.

Pittsburgh police could not be reached for comment.
